Transformer of the Day for October 15, 2009

-Faction: Autobot
Armada-Energon-Cyberton (2002-2006)
-Function: Evacuation
-Motto: “
We Must Fight Alongside Our Enemy Against a Common Threat
-Notable Toy: Ultra (Hasbro, 2005)

Notes: Each part of the Unicron triology offered something for fans. Armada offered up mini-cons and Unicron. Cybertron gave us a massive tetrajet Starscream and a fresh Soundwave. For Energon, though, it was not the gimmicky spark of combination, but repaints that had new identities, rather than serving as reincarnation of the original figure. In this case, it was nice to bring home a new addition of Overcast, even if he and Jetfire were brothers.

(Apologies and thanks to tfu.info for the toy picture.)

  1. I keep wishing I had this figure or the Jetfire shuttle to work as a stand in for “Classics Blast Off”. Currently I have Classics Onslaught, Movie Blackout as Vortex, Energon Strongarm with a Decepticon Emblem over his Autobot one as Swindle (I tried Animated Swindle but the style is too off).

I want to see about picking up a second hand Leader Brawl/Devastator/whatever the tanks name is from the first movie to use as Brawl or possibly even just a Deluxe one and one of the shuttles from the Energon/Cybertron/Armada series for use as Blast Off.

  2. I think a deluxe Brawl/Devastator would nicely complement your Energon Strongarm. But have you considered swapping out the Ultra Blackout for the Fast Action Battler version? Might be closer to scale there. For that matter you could do the same with the Fast Action Battler Brawl. As for Blast Off, I don’t have any good ideas that are in scale.
